STUDY INTERNATIONAL RELATİONS AT UNIVERSITY OF VENICE İN ITALY

I’m Nigerian, currently studying and residing in Italy. I got to know about Academix Agency through the expo that was help in Hilton hotel in Ankara Turkey 2019 or 2020 not so sure, but definitely before the pandemic struck.

Quick background, I did my bachelors in Turkey, graduated from university in 2018 and I was looking for where to do my masters, generally I hate applications, they’re quite tasking and time consuming, so I stumbled on Ms. Aslihan Çaliskan during the academic expo and I collected her card, and paid a visit to her office, and she captivated me with the amount of great information she shared.

After some research on the school and course I wanted, I wrote back to her and we immediately started the process, I provided all the required documents and she applied for me, and in a month plus, my admission was in.  Ms. Aslihan Caliskan also put me through visa application when my visa was denied the first time. She helped me so much to get my visa.

On arriving Venice Italy, it was quite challenging because of the pandemic, I did literally everything by myself, from online enrolment, to making a study plan, it was a bit shocking to see that there’s no course advisor to guide me, however I survived.

It’s always better to ask questions to know the number of courses to take and also credits to complete by the end of the year. The quality education here is good, I’ll say it’s a bit more intense than Turkey, for instance most exams here are conducted orally, which was shocking to me because it wasn’t like that in Turkey.

As for living conditions, it’s relatively okay, student accommodation on the mainland (mestre/marghera) ranges from 200-350€ depending if it’s a single or double room.

Where as on the (Venice) island the least ranges from 270-500€/month including bills as the case may be. It’s also advisable to learn Italian, if you really want to integrate better, otherwise living here in Venice might not be so easy. Venice is an amazing city and i’m sure you all will love it. I’ll be glad to answer any further questions to help other students.
